Obituary of Pearl Buchanan

The passing of Pearl Christena Buchanan, wife of the late John “Jack” Buchanan, occurred on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 16, 1932 in Tay Creek, NB, she was the daughter of the late James and Emily (Bull) MacKinnon. Pearl was a member of Stirling United Church. Pearl is survived by her sons, Thomas Buchanan and Terry Buchanan (Shirley) both of Tay Creek, NB; grandchildren, Andrew, Wanda, Craig and Vicki; great grandchildren, Taylor, Wesley, Dustin, Tiffany, Jordan, Morgan and Laura; great great grandchildren; Nate and Dilynn; sister, Freda Hickey of Tay Creek, NB; special niece and nephews, Elaine, Brian and Brent Hayes and Brenda Henry; several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Elaine; sisters, Gladys Davidson, Beatrice Jones, Marie Hayes, Mabel MacKinnon and Viola Mills; brothers, Elwood and Gerald MacKinnon. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian Delong officiating. Interment will take place at Stirling United Church Cemetery, Tay Creek, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
