Obituary of Viola Davis-Strachan
The passing of Viola Frances (Palmer) Davis-Strachan of Doaktown, NB, formerly of Boiestown, NB, wife of James Strachan occurred on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Hospice House, Fredericton, NB. Born on March 25, 1934 in Ludlow, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Alberta (Dudley) Palmer. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and cooking. Viola attended St. James the Greater Anglican Church as a child and was a member of St. Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church, Boiestown, NB.
In addition to her husband, Viola is survived by her daughters, Paulette MacKay of Doaktown, NB and Gwen Davis of Bloomfield Ridge, NB; sons, Wade Davis (Denise) of Astle, NB and Glen Davis (Debbie) of Bloomfield Ridge, NB; seven grandchildren, Gina, Kasia, Carrie, Clay, Chad, Michelle and Scott; 13 great grandchildren, Justin, Tyson, Kayla, Rebecca, Amanda, Jaime, Carley, Emma, Kye, Kristen, Shannon, Tristen and Reese; one great great grandchild, Jaylinn; sisters, Janet Eveleigh of NL, Carolyn Palmer of Ludlow, NB and Alberta Bunn of Toronto, ON; brother, Blake Palmer of Ludlow, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Cecil Davis; infant twins, Harry and Larry Davis; grandson, Trevor Davis; great granddaughter, Jayde Hunter; sisters, Zona Carson and Dora Stillman; brothers, infant Gerald and Bruce Palmer.
Visitation will take place at St. James The Greater Anglican Church on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 1-2 pm followed by a Memorial Service at the church at 2 pm with Father Neil Osiowy officiating. Interment will take place in St. James The Greater Anglican Church Cemetery at a later date. The family wish to express a special thank you to Father Neil Osiowy; Dr. Heman Chow and Hospice Fredericton.
