Obituary of Lewis O'Donnell
The passing of Lewis “MacKenzie” O’Donnell of New Bandon, NB, husband of the late Mildred O’Donnell occurred on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Veteran's Health Unit in Fredericton, NB. Born on November 18, 1923 in New Bandon, NB, he was the son of the late Chester and Hilda (Lyons) O'Donnell. MacKenzie was a veteran of World War II, having served in England and throughout Europe. Later he was a private lumber contractor.
MacKenzie is survived by his daughters, Deborah Shaw (Fred) of Sussex, NB, Wanda Burkhardt (John) of Ludlow, NB and Susan O’Donnell of Fredericton, NB; sons, Clark O’Donnell (Valerie) of New Bandon, NB and Robert O’Donnell of New Bandon, NB; grandchildren, Christopher, Annette, Suzanne, Stephanie, Erin, Jason, Darrick, Melissa and Robyn; seventeen great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Lyons of Doaktown, NB, Ellen Thibodeau (Robert) of New Bandon, NB, Judy Storey (Leonard) of New Bandon, NB; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, MacKenzie was predeceased by his brothers, Percy, Robert, Chester Jr., Kay, Wilfred and Herbie; daughter-in-law, Heather O’Donnell.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 11am - 1 pm and will be followed by a Funeral Service at Miramichi Valley Chapel at 1 pm with Rev. Mike Burzek officiating. Interment will take place in the Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
