Obituary of Lloyd Marshall
Lloyd Leaman Marshall, age 96 of Douglas, NB, husband of Cecile (Meldrum) Marshall, died at home on Sunday, October 28, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born on August 10, 1922 in Sydney, NS, he was the son of the late Elias Brenton and Ethel Rebecca (Leaman) Marshall. Lloyd was educated at Sydney Academy, Acadia University and the Technical University of Nova Scotia. He had a long career in the Pulp and Paper Industry and the Provincial Government. Lloyd was an engineer by profession, enjoyed architectural drawing and had a passion for gardening.
In addition to his wife of 70 years, Lloyd is survived by his daughters, Nancy Marshall of Douglas, NB and Judy Bettle (Robert) of Douglas, NB; son, James Marshall (Joan) of Ottawa, ON; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Etta, Jason, Adam, Tom, Heather, Mark and Jennifer and 13 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Ralph and Norman.
The family wishes to express grateful recognition of the compassionate and skilful care given to Lloyd and his family by the Extra Mural Nurses.
Cremation has taken place; a memorial service will take place at Gibson Memorial United Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Gibson Memorial United Church or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
