Life Legacy
The passing of Millett John Lyons, of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Evelyn (Stafford) Lyons, occurred on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at York Care Centre, Fredericton, NB. Born on October 31, 1925 in Blackville, NB, he was a son of the late Freeman and Christina (Arbeau) Lyons. Millett worked at the Marysville Cotton Mill for 18 years; he was a barber and also worked as a stationary engineer for NB Research and Productivity Council for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing guitar and making music and spending time with family and friends. Millett was involved with various church groups and was a member of Crosspoint Church.
He was survived by his daughter, Deborah Dickeson (Ken) of Fredericton, NB; his son, Gary Lyons (Gail) of Salisbury, NB; grandchildren, Kimberly Rowe and Mark Lyons both of Saint John, NB, Heather Lyons-McKay and Andrea Lyons-Kewley both of Alberta and Dana Dickeson (Tricia) of Fredericton, NB; great grandchildren, Breana, Damon, Cora, Emilie and Jacob; sister, Lena Chapman of Ludlow, NB and brothers, Manny (Barbara) of Fredericton, NB, Marven (Nancy) of Fredericton, NB and Paul (Wanda) of McAdam, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Millett was predeceased by his son, Brian Lyons; grandson, Craig Dickeson; sisters, Isabel, Marion and Grace as well as brothers, Blair, Eldon and Harold.
A Memorial Service will be held from Crosspoint Church, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11 am with Rev. Mark Brewer and Pastor Normand MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place in Olivet Wesleyan Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, York Care Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
