Obituary of Jean Dickison
DICKISON, ANNIE JEAN (NEE MACDONALD)
November 10, 1927 – September 08, 2018, at the Shannex Regent Hall residence. Predeceased by her loving husband, Bill “Son”, August 1991. She is survived by her two sons, Donald (Susan) of Hudson, QC and William (late Shirley) of Swift Current, SK. Adored Nana of David, Stephen (Emma), Trevor (Allison) and Nana Nana to Nathan, Zachary and William. She was predeceased by her son, James (Jim); by her great granddaughter, Madelyn, and her 4 brothers, Laird, Barry, Norman and Blair.
Jean was born on PEI, began married life June 1951 and, with husband Bill, raised a family beginning in Doaktown, followed by stints in Moncton, Montreal and back to Moncton. As Bill’s retirement approached they built their beautiful home with the marvelous view on the banks of the Miramichi in Doaktown. Jean lived independently and peacefully there for 26 years and only made the move last October 2017 to Shannex, before another winter set in.
Mom “Jeaner” was a lovely lady with a beautiful smile and fabulous sense of humour. Her view on life can be summed up with 2 of her favourite phrases, “IT IS WHAT IT IS” and “THIS TOO SHALL PASS”. She enjoyed her friends, bridge, crosswords, reading and of course TV sports, especially, her beloved Blue Jays.
The family wishes to thank our Miramichi angels, Norma, Muriel and Isabel, who were so important to Mom, especially the last few years. We do not know what we would have done without you.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Thomas United Church in Doaktown at a later date.
Donations may be made to St Thomas United Church or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Personal condolences may be offered through www.miramichivalleyfh.com
