Obituary of Marie Nicholson

At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Monday, August 6, 2018, Marie Alfredda Nicholson passed away surrounded by her beloved family. Born in Canterbury, raised in Grant Settlement, Marie was the daughter of the late Harold and Mildred (Wright) Grant. Survived by her loving children: Wendy Hallihan (Wayne), Jerry Nicholson (Bonnie), Ricky Nicholson, Randy Nicholson (Brenda), Barb Nicholson (Darenda), and Nancy Denton. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life: Justin Wilson, Meagan Cross, Kyle Nicholson, Kristen Nicholson, Chelsey Philips, Brittany Nicholson, Kurtis Nicholson and Hilary Land. Her precious great-grandchildren: Leah Nicholson; Cali, Emmy and Tyler Philips, Elliott and Emilia Land. She will be sadly missed by her siblings: Fulton Grant, Janet Cosman, Zula Love, Shirley Cloutier, Sheila McInnis and Tina Madore. Marie was predeceased by her father and mother, Harold and Mildred Grant; sisters, Lavina Berube and Esta Corey; son-in-law, Michael Denton and several other family members. Marie lived for her family and enjoyed family gatherings, especially on Boxing Day. She was a wonderful cook and had time for everyone. She was thoughtful and giving in so many ways. She was an amazing Mom, who will be forever missed. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 1 to 4 pm with the funeral following at 4 pm with Father Monte Peters officiating. Honourary pallbearers will be grandsons, Kurtis Nicholson, Kyle Nicholson and Justin Wilson; son -in- law, Wayne Hallihan; brother-in-law, Ed Love and brother, Fulton Grant. In lieu of flowers, donations to one of the following would be appreciated: Dunroamin Stray & Rescue, Carleton County Animal Shelter, Fredericton SPCA or Oromocto SPCA.
