Obituary of Daniel Koch
It is with great sadness that we must announce the sudden passing of Daniel (Dan) Lee Koch (43) of Maple Grove on Aug 3rd after what was a severe allergic reaction to a wasp/hornet bite(s).
Dan was a proud father of daughter Rylee and step daughters Stephanie and Sarah; beloved Son to Terry and Judy Koch; brother to Doug & Shirley; and Uncle to Caleb, Connor and Gracelyn Koch. Dan also leaves behind many close friends and family from his many years of living throughout New Brunswick and across the United States.
Having moved back to the Family farm in New Brunswick 3 years ago, Dan had just finished his first season working at the Upper Nashwaak Agrena where he was a regular sight in the Canteen and on the Zamboni. In the summer months, Dan worked hard as a partner growing the Maple Acres Farm family business while spending time with his daughter and planning out his new home on the farm. Dan’s international experience in construction management was put to use as a consultant in mine reclamation across the North West Territories and in Nunavit.
Being an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, Dan enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing and was looking forward to coaching the Stanley High School boys soccer team for his 3rd year this fall. Coach Dan will be sadly missed by all.
In lieu of a funeral, we are honoring Dan’s wishes by keeping things simple and we will be spreading his ashes at the family rock in the farm’s Maple Sugar Bush at a later date.
