Karyn and family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I had Joy as a music teacher in elementary school and she taught with my mother many moons ago. She left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure to meet her and especially those who were fortune to have her as a teacher. Sending love to all.

I spent much of my growing up babysitting for Joy and her 3 Ks. We reconnected when she taught my daughter and again when she joined Probus. She remained engaged and engaging through her whole life in spite of medical issues in later years. It was indeed a joy to know her. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Joy was well named, for that is what she brought to this world as a person and especially as a teacher. She shaped a love of music in her students. She was faithful to the important things in life. Joy was an inspirational example of a positive outlook. My sympathy to her family and all those who shall miss her smiling countenance.

So so sorry to learn of the passing of your Mom. A lovely lady to be greatly missed by all of you.
Paul cleared the snow in Joys driveway for couple of years and so enjoyed talking to her on these times.
She spoke very openly of her love for each of you.
God Bless each of you as you travel through this difficult time of mourning.

Mrs. Broad was my piano teacher for 10 years. She was a role model, a mentor; she showed me what it is to appreciate and love music. When I accomplished something, she would always say "Good for you!" with a kind smile. I'm fortunate to have known her and the memories I shared with her will stay with me forever. Condolences to her family.

Hi Karyn. My brother just let me know about the passing of your mom. Please know that I am thinking about you and the family and am very sorry for your loss. She was s remarkable woman and I really enjoyed getting to chat with her while I was helping mom move into St Annes. She had not changed a bit! I was hoping that the 2 moms would strike up a friendship as your mom still seemed so bright and independent. Im sure that you have many wonderful memories to help you through your loss.
Take Care

Mrs. Broad gave me my beginnings and foundation in the love of music as a private student in the early sixties. I never forgot what she taught me. Music is something I have enjoyed all through my life as well as, now in my senior years. I am sure she will be missed and remembered by many.

As a student of Alexander Gibson Memorial School in the 70's and 80's I had the privilege of being a student of Mrs.Broad's for 6 years. Mrs.Broad was not a teacher who taught music, she was a musician who became a teacher. She loved what she did and the children she taught and we loved her. A wonderful lady and teacher.

Mrs.Broad taught me and my husband music at Alexander Gibson Memorial School, then taught our children at Nashwaak Valley School, then I worked with her grandchildren at Park Street School. Such a wonderful family! Mrs. Broad was a very strict and inspirational music teacher to so many children over the years. So happy she was a part of our life. Sorry to all of her family for your loss! Be proud of the wonderful influence she was over so very many students. Please know we are thinking of you over the next while and find peace in the pleasure your mother brought to so many people. xo

Very sorry for your loss.
I remember Mrs Broad as a music teacher at Alexander Gibson also and have fond memories of her getting us ready for a Christmas concert. In the middle of a song she lost a tooth that fell to the stage, she acknowledged it and then carried on as if nothing had happened.
