Obituary of Phyllis Brewer
It is with great sadness that the family of Phyllis Evelyn Brewer announces her peaceful passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 18, 2018. Born at Scotch Settlement, NB on October 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Annie Platt and loving wife of the late Douglas Brewer (July, 1995).
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Marion Ingraham (Duane) and her son, Dale Brewer; her brother, Keith Platt (Barbara) of Indiana; her special sister-in-laws, Juanita Brewer, Fredericton and Marion Platt, Moncton; as well as several very special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Phyllis is predeceased by her brothers, George Platt (Vivian) and Lawrence Platt (Peggy) and brother-in-law, Kennie Brewer.
Phyllis was a member of the Nashwaaksis Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary for a number of years and was a Dominion Life Member of the United Baptist Women's Missionary Group (Charles and Frances Harvey Chapter). Phyllis was an avid Royal Family Collector. Phyllis loved to write letters to her many pen pals around the world and loved her stamp collecting hobby.
We would like to thank her Family Doctor, Dr. E. Hauman, the Doctors of Hillside Family Medicine for their excellent care and the nurses and staff of 4SE for taking such good care of our mother. We would also like to thank her wonderful neighbours who always kept an eye on Phyllis.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 7-9 pm. Interment will take place in the Keswick Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Nashwaaksis Baptist Church, Green Hill Lake Camp, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
