Obituary of Noel Stanford

Noel Ayshford Emptage Stanford passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on February 13, 2018. Noel was born on December 24, 1933, at Ayshford Plantation in Barbados. He immigrated to Canada in the winter of 1958, where he began his successful career as an investment dealer and bond trader, first in Montreal and then later in Toronto. Noel is survived by his children, Derrick Stanford (Kathi), Sharon Stanford-Rutter (Tristan Rutter), Andrea Stanford (Mark Brown), sister Margaret Edwards of Barbados, cherished grandchildren Samantha, Jordana, Brett, Keely, Gabrielle, Ben, Andrew and Fiona (to whom he was known as “Ho Ho”), as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his three brothers, Mac, Duncan and Clyde, and his parents, John and Ivy. There will be no visitation by request. A private memorial service and burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chalmers Foundation.
