Obituary of Violet Taylor
The passing of Violet “Vi” Rebecca (Wilkins) Taylor, wife of Donald Taylor, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 19, 1930 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Fannie (Haines) Wilkins. Vi worked as a Pharmacy Technician for Mr. Briggs “Devon Pharmacy” for 15 years and was a member of Gibson Memorial United Church, Fredericton, NB.
Besides her husband, Vi is survived by her sons, Tommy Taylor (Norma) and Peter Taylor (Susan); her daughter, Brenda Taylor-Grattan; chosen children, Julie Lane and Peter McDonald; grandchildren, Vicki Coy (Dale), Rick Smith (Shelley), Jill Taylor (Chris Crawford), Jeff Taylor and Bradley Dunphy (Nuchjaree); great grandchildren, Zachary (Kara) Smith, Alyssa Smith, Lacey McCutcheon, Jack Crawford, Jada Crawford, Ethan Smith, Mikhailah Smith, Malcolm Hudson and Kaley Taylor; sisters, Marilyn Harding (Ralph), Margaret Wilkins (Don Carson) and Fannie Gorman (Jack); brothers, Robert Wilkins (Georgie), Harold Wilkins, Elbridge Wilkins; sisters in law, Jean Long, Marlene Latchford and Joan Taylor; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Vi is predeceased by her brother, Peter Wilkins; sisters in law, Shirley, Barb and Doris Wilkins and June Linden; brother in law, Robert Taylor, Ned Linden, David Long and Keith Latchford; son in law, Everette Grattan.
A Celebration of Life will be held at their home, 686 McLaren Avenue, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 1-6 pm. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
