Obituary of James Ramier
The passing of James Douglas Ramier of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Lois (Broome) Ramier occurred on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 4, 1937 in Falardeau, QC, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Jean (MacWhirter) Ramier.
Poppa was a proud member of the Armed Forces for 36 years. He served in Germany, the Middle East and Cypress. He and Nana moved many times across Canada and dedicated their lives to military service for our country.
Upon retirement he continued his career in public service with the province of New Brunswick. He particularly enjoyed meeting so many friends when working at the scales in Longs Creek with C.V. E.
In later years he enjoyed his grandchildren and daily rounds to Home Depot, Costco, and Regent Mall to share a muffin and some gossip with his pals. We will all miss him dearly.
James is survived by his son, Jamie Ramier (Kim Penny) and their son, Grady of Fredericton, NB; daughter, Juli Ramier-Nickerson (Mark) and their daughter, Autumn of Calgary, AB; granddaughter, Elizabeth Estabrooks of Hamstead, NB and her mother, Kelly Estabrooks; sister, Vivian Scott of Fredericton, NB; brother, Charles “Charlie” Ramier (Madeline) of Fredericton, NB; sister in law, Katherine Kaine of Calgary, AB; brother in law, Albert Broome of Fredericton, NB; nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will take place at Prince William Cemetery, Prince William, NB on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11am with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
