Obituary of James Fraser

The passing of James “Jim” Gordon Fraser of Fredericton, NB, husband of Sharon (Manzer) Fraser occurred on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born August 18, 1936 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of Gordon Fraser and Dorothy (Nicholson) Preston. He was a Fleet Analyst with NB Power for 35 years. Jim was affiliated with Nashwaaksis United Church and a former Boy Scout Leader at the church. He loved his grandchildren, fishing, photography, spending time at the cottage on the Saint John River, and will be remembered for his great story telling. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his daughters, Lori McFarlane and Susan Royal (Mike); grandchildren, William, Kelsi (Jason) and Olivia (Brad) McFarlane, and Sam Royal; great grandchild, Lucan; special uncle, John Nicolson; many extended family, and his beloved dog, Lucy. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. J. D. Kennedy officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery in the summer.
