Obituary of Gail Gibbard
It is with sadness that the family of Gail Eleanor Gibbard, age 75, of Fredericton, NB announces her death which occurred on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the York Care Centre. Born on March 22, 1942 in Fredericton; daughter of the late George and Verna Seymour.
Gail is survived by her husband, John (Jack) Gibbard; daughters, Angela Niles, Newmarket, ON and Carole-Lynda Mosher (David), Windsor, ON; son, Mark Niles, Fredericton, NB; step children, Theresa MacDonald, ON; John Gibbard, ON and Debra Ann Gibbard, QC; sister, Lynn McCann (Graham), Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Barbara Beamish (Eric), ON and brother-in-law, Cameron Gibbard, ON. Gail will also be missed by her grandchildren, Evan (Aly) Mosher, Christopher (Ashley) Mosher both of Windsor, ON; Amber Haggett and Matthew Haggett of Newmarket, ON, not to mention her great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Gail was predeceased by sisters, Betty Ferris and Anna Perley; brothers-in-law, Ed Perley, William and Thomas Gibbard; nieces, Jill Diane Arbeau, Janet Lee Ferris, Tammy Cook and nephew, Darren Cook.
After high school graduation, Gail worked for the RCMP in Fredericton and Mississauga, ON and for the final 15 years of her career, she was a dedicated employee of CAW-Canada.
Upon retirement, Gail and Jack moved back to their home in Fredericton.
Gail’s sense of humour and quick wittiness will be missed by all who knew her. Gail was an avid reader and especially enjoyed her other hobbies of knitting, jigsaw and word puzzles.
As requested there will be no visitation but a Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 2 pm from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. J. D. Kennedy of Nashwaaksis United Church officiating. Interment will take place at Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Birch Grove of York Care Centre for the special care and kindness given to Gail.
