Obituary of Mary Holleran
The passing of Mary Kathleen (Whittaker) Holleran, wife of the late Francis Gerald Holleran, occurred on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born in Fredericton, NB on September 1, 1931, she was the daughter of the late George and Elsie (Dugan) Whittaker. Mary retired as a Registered Nurse and was involved with VPH alumni. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church and was active with the CWL.
Mary is survived by her children, Kathy Holleran-Pond (Ted), John Holleran, Larry Holleran (Joyce), Joanne Holleran-Palmer (Mark) and Karen Holleran, all of the Fredericton area; grandchildren, Elyse Gullison (Ted), Michael Leet, Brandon Leet, Crystal Palmer-Bradley (Jim), Tasha Palmer (Chris) and Rebecca Lester; great grandchildren, Aiden and Karley Leet and Sawyer Trefry; son in law, Rick Worrall; in laws, Gilbert White (late Mona), Leo Feeney (late Gertrude), Edward Holleran (late Barb), Lois Keenan (late Edward), Rita Richardson (Denis), Joe Holleran (Joyce), Arthur Holleran (Cindy), Charles Holleran (Diana), Walter Holleran (Suzanne) and Laurence Holleran (Mary Ellen). Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, James and Joseph Whittaker.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11 am with Father Martin Arputham as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
