Obituary of Michael Ker
Michael F. Ker, a long-time resident of New Brunswick, passed away on November 6, at his home in Fredericton. Michael was born near Niagara Falls, Ontario, in 1946. He was predeceased by his father, Dr. Walter Franklin Ker (d. 1979); his mother, Maria Kelly (d. 1977); and his sister, Maureen Ker (d. 1998). He is survived by his brother, Carman Ker, of St. Catherine’s, Ontario. Michael had degrees in forestry from the University of Toronto and Yale University. He published many scientific papers with the Canadian Forest Service while working at their research centres in Saint Johns, Newfoundland and Fredericton, New Brunswick.
The funeral arrangements are handled by York Funeral Home, on Brookside Drive, Fredericton. A Catholic Service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, November 28, at 2 pm with Father Bill Brennan officiating.
