Obituary of Mark Mackay

The sudden passing of Mark Stewart MacKay of Taxis River, NB occurred on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at home. Born on May 19, 1960 in Fredericton, NB he was a son of the late Howard “Bert” and Mary “Ellen” (Stewart) MacKay. Mark was a correctional officer at the Atlantic Institution in Renous, NB. He was a past member of the Blue Knights who loved hunting and being outdoors. Mark is survived by his children, Laura MacKay (Cory Kingston), Abby Marie, Brooklyn and Hunter MacKay; grandchildren, Erica and AJ; brothers, Brent (Kim), Wayne (Cyrille) and Brian (Sonya) MacKay; sister, Brenda Storey; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mark was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Bradley Storey. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Miramichi Valley Chapel on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul McGrattan officiating. Interment will be in Parkers Ridge Cemetery.
