We were returning from the US on our way home to Moncton and stopped for lunch in Fredericton and a little voice said "buy a Gleaner". I did.
I then read Patricia's obituary. My gosh, it has been 45 years since I heard the Cochrane name. Nancy (and Janice), when we were growing up in Fredericton, I remember your mother worrying about you but we had fun. You gave me my first water skiing lesson at the camp on Grand Lake. Nancy, you may run into my brother, Dr. Ian Anderson at Foothills. I think he graduated FHS with you.
Sorry to read about your mother but it did bring back nice memories.

TO: Pat's Children & Grandchildren:
As I am writing this message to each of you, I have many fond memories of your Mom and Dad... Many years ago, living in the town of Marysville N B, Pat met a handsome young man, Richard Cochrane. There was a very steep hill, BRICK HILL (which is Bridge St.) to climb daily to get to the top where many of us lived. Just about everyday I would see Pat and Richard running so fast up the steep hill to see which one could get there first, Pat's dear Sister-in-law Ethel
never succeeded in running.... The last time I met your Mom was approximately four years ago at the Big Potato Vegetable Stand. in Maugerville NB. She certainly never forgot me and her beautiful smile as Harry mentioned always brought sunshine to everyone she met. I am so closely related to this family, but never got to meet you all however. since
I talk to cousin Ethel, I feel I know you all because of the closeness you share with her...
My thoughts and Prayers are with you all at this time of Loss...

In the summer of 1945, Pat looked after my two sisters and I while our mother was in hospital. We knew her because Charlie Bigney and my father were close friends and worked for the same company. After Charlie died, and Mrs. Bigney moved to Montreal, we lost regular contact with the family, but we always remembered Pat and spoke of her often.
My sincere condolences to Pat's children and grandchildren.

Our sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. Pat had the capacity to brighten the room and we always enjoyed our interactions with her. Even though your mother was well advanced in years, the loss of a mother leaves a hole that cannot be filled.
