Obituary of Mavis Brewer

The passing of Mavis Amelia Brewer of Burtts Corner, NB, wife of the late Wardie Brewer occurred on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Hospice House. Born on July 6, 1942 in Burtts Corner, NB, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Minnie (Wilkins) Edmondson. Mavis was a member of Cornerstone Bible Church, Burtts Corner, NB. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, camping and loved working with children. Mavis is survived by her children, Mollie Hanscom (Willie), Brenda Shaw (Bruce), Joseph Brewer, Pamela Parker (Malcolm), and Jeffrey Brewer (Angie); grandchildren, Thomas Brewer, Nicholas Brewer (Tara), Nash Brewer and Lexi Brewer, Austin Parker; great grandchildren, Landon and Olivia Brewer; sisters, Grace Hawkins (George) and Alice Bird; son in law, James Parker; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Phyllis Merrithew and Clara Yerxa; brothers, Ben Jr., John and Walter Edmondson, and brother in law, William Bird. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 3pm with Pastor Stephen Matthews officiating. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery.
