Obituary of Karen Jones
Karen Rae Jones of Hanwell, NB passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Born in Charlottetown, PE on February 8, 1952, Karen was a daughter of Eileen (MacFadyen) Hambly and the late Alfred Raymond Hambly of Charlottetown, PE.
In addition to her beloved husband, Ronald Jones and her mother, Eileen Hambly; Karen is survived by her sons, Greg Jones (Danielle) of Hanwell, NB and Chris Jones (Misty) of Fredericton, NB and by her daughters, Lesley Pardy (Trevor) of Fredericton, NB and Tiffany St. Onge Allen (Justin and children) of Oromocto, NB; her grandchildren, Cameron and Kiefer Jones, Mya Simonson, Keaton, Hudson, Beckham and London Pardy; sisters, Donna Carr (Gordon), Judy Fraser and Janice Beaton (David) all of Charlottetown, PE; brother, Rod Hambly (Lana) of Keppoch, PE; sister-in-law, Bonnie May (Roger) of Charlottetown, PE; brother-in-law, Lowell Jones (Janet) of York, PE along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Ray Hambly and her brother-in-law, Percy Fraser; father-in-law, E. Leslie Jones and mother-in-law, Fern (Grassick) Jones of Cornwall, PE.
Karen was a member of Park Royal United Church in Charlottetown PE, where she was both baptized and married. She relocated with her husband and family to Fredericton NB in 1990 where she worked for the Royal Bank of Canada and later became a dedicated member of the Covey Basics family for many years, until her retirement last year.
She enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren, camping, snowshoeing, and traveling as well as evenings spent with friends.
In accordance with Karen’s requests there will be no visitation, or funeral service. In lieu, “Celebration of Life” Receptions will be held for family and friends at Crosspoint Wesleyan Church in Marysville, NB on Wednesday August 16, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00pm as well as at the Park Royal United Church in Sherwood, PE on Tuesday August 22, 2017 from 7:00 - 9:00pm.
Arrangements are being handled by York Funeral Home. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.
