Jagger & I first met Rueben a few years ago while visiting Aunt Susie at Birch Grove at York Care Centre. Jagger & Rueben hit it off & became great buddies. Rueben was quite the comedian & we always had a lot of laughs together. At every visit just before we would leave, Rueben always thanked me for bringing Jagger in. We will miss Rueben terribly.

So sad to hear of my uncles passing! Unfortunately I didn't spend a lot of time with uncle Reuben but I enjoyed every moment that I did. Along with my dad, his brother, he was one of the most loving men I ever knew. He reminded me so much of my father. And every time time they got together there was so much fun and music. I'm sure there's more fun and music in heaven today with those two Janes together again! Love you Aunt Elizabethe, Stephen, Kim and Jackie.

There wasn't a more lighthearted and genuine person on this entire planet. I hope that wherever he is, he's by the ocean, singing a song, and being that shining example of true kind-heartedness.

It was with a heavy heart that we heard the news of Major Janes Promotion to Glory. While I cannot fathom that this great man is gone from our world, I am convinced he is gone to a greater place.
Wavey and I first met Captain and Mrs. Janes over a Sunday meal. We decided they were awesome folk and attended the Charlottetown, PEI Corps that very evening. Though The Salvation Army was new to me, he and Mrs. Janes accepted us like family, and gave me the opportunity to play the piano for the meetings.
This became a pivotal moment in my life as a year later Major Janes conducted our wedding and, within the next year, enrolled me as a Senior Soldier. I must allow his reluctance to do so, for I was new to the Army, and young. But the influence they had on us went deep, and nearly 40 years later we are ourselves approaching retirement as Salvation Army Officers.
God used one Sunday meal with Rueben and Elizabethe Janes to change the entire course of my life. To Stephen, Kimberley, Jacqueline and your families, I pray you will sense Gods presence through this time!

I genuinely regret your loss. I hope that in due time your family receives Gods peace that excels all thought, so that it will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. God is called the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation. Rest assured that he cares for all his creatures and he would never bring us suffering. A soothing scripture I like is Psalm 34:18 which reads: Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves. He promised that in the Paradise, we will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free from all problems, accidents, and sickness. Even our dead loved ones like Reuben will be resurrected. (Psalm 37:9, 29; John 5:28, 29) With all my sympathy for the loss of someone so dear.
