Obituary of Adele Grant
The passing of Adele Patricia (Emin) Grant occurred on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 3:05 am. Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of Patrick Emin and the late Mora (Alam) Emin.
She is survived by her loving husband, J. Ellis Grant (Douglas, NB) and daughters, Joelle and Nadine, and son-in-law Bruce Hamilton (Halifax, NS). Adele is also survived by her sister, Georgette; her brothers, Joseph and Philip; several nieces and nephews. Adele was predeceased by her in-laws, Willard and Evelyn (Sandwith) Grant.
Adele was a devoted wife, spending many years as a stay-at-home mother while volunteering for a number of causes. Upon rejoining the work force, she pursued a rewarding career in the New Brunswick school system. She was known for her compassion and ability to form special bonds with all the children placed in her charge. In addition to her own career, Adele provided constant support to her husband in all of his endeavours. As well as being missed by her family, Adele leaves behind many dear friends. She treasured their unending comfort, laughter, and support. All who knew Adele will remember her sense of humour and love for life.
There will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will take place at Douglas Baptist Church, Douglas, NB on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Peter Moore officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery. Many thanks to the nurses and doctors of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Oncology Unit, the Palliative Care nurses, and Dr. Debra Gowan.
