Obituary of Ronald Brooks

The family of Ronald (Ron) Norman Brooks are sad to announce his passing on Monday, July 24, 2017. Ron passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. He was born on July 1, 1945 in Halifax, NS. Ron spent his life in public service; he worked for Corrections Services Canada for 35 years and was an active volunteer in the community. He enjoyed a good laugh, as well as camping and spending time with friends and family. He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. Ron will be deeply missed by his wife of 46 years, Janet (Armstrong) Brooks; his son Timothy Brooks (Shauna) and their two children Mya and Isaac of Riverview, NB; his daughter Sarah Brooks (Alan Gray) of Fredericton, NB; and, his brother Murray Brooks (Jeanne) of New Glasgow, NS and his nephews Aaron and Adam Brooks. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Robie and Dorthy (Lavers) Brooks and his nephew Ian Brooks. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolence may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.
