Obituary of Phyllis Hurley
Life Legacy
Phyllis Ann Hurley passed away July 11, 2017 at York Care Centre, Fredericton, NB. Phyllis was born in Blissfield, NB on January 18, 1936, daughter of the late Basil and Essie (Gilks) Hurley.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Beers-Sturgeon (Armond) of Miramichi, NB; son, Gregory Beers (Inga) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB; grandson, Joshua Sturgeon (Julie) of Edmonton, AB; sisters, Ellen Hurley Legere (Alfred) of Nasonworth, NB and Patricia Hurley of Montreal, PQ; brother, Basil Hurley (Joanne) of New Maryland, NB and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant sister, Pearl and her children’s father, John Beers.
Phyllis taught for many years in Blackville where she lived while raising her family.
The family would like to thank all the staff of York Care Centre for their wonderful care.
Visitation will take place at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Doaktown, NB on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 1 – 2 pm followed by a Funeral Mass at 2 pm with Father Godwin Kalu as celebrant. Interment will take place at Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Blissfield, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis’ memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery.
