Obituary of Noreen MacQueen
The passing of Noreen Ema MacQueen of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Ross MacQueen occurred on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Hospice House, Fredericton, NB. Born on May 1, 1936 in Sydney, NS she was the daughter of the late Rita (Horton) and Allan Hillier. A life long resident of Grand Lake Road, Sydney, NS until recently, when she moved to Fredericton, NB to live with her daughter and son in law. Noreen was the President and owner of Lynk Printing Service Ltd., the business she continued to operate after the passing of her husband, Ross MacQueen. Noreen was also a founding member of the Grand Lake Road Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a friend and supporter of Capital Region Special Olympics. Noreen was a devoted, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
Noreen leaves behind her daughter, Rosalind Fagan (Mike) of Fredericton, NB; son, Philip MacQueen (Mary Ann) of Sydney, NS; grandchildren, Robert MacKillop (Krista) of Fredericton, NB, Nadine MacQueen (Nicole) of Airdrie, AB, Sherisse Redman (Mac) of Fredericton, NB, Michael Penney (Kati) of Fredericton, NB and Malcolm MacQueen (Ariane) of Glace Bay, NS; her beloved great grandchildren, David Redman and Claire MacKillop of Fredericton, NB, and her very special friend, Keith Fagan of Fredericton, NB; sisters, June Penny of Halifax, NS and Nina Tivendale of Saint John, NB; brother, Allan Hillier of Sydney, NS; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Ann and her brother, Len.
A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney, NS at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Fredericton Hospice, Capital Region Special Olympics or the charity of the donor’s choice. An angel on earth continues her work in heaven.
