Obituary of Rita Mills

The passing of Rita Jean Mills of Fredericton, NB, wife of Robert Mills, occurred on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Shannex, Frederick Hall. Born on October 12, 1934 in Dumfries, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ervil and Sybilla (Carlin) Mabie. Rita was a cook at Joe’s Diner where she retired after 38 years. She enjoyed camping, cooking, barbeques, and boating. In addition to her husband, Rita is survived by her step-sons, Jeff Mills (Patty) of Fredericton, NB, Mike Mills (Debbie) of Fredericton, NB and Mark Mills of Saint John, NB; grandchildren, Andrea Moorecroft and Billie-Joe Mallet (Junior); four step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Mabie of Nackawic, NB; daughter-in-law, Brenda Moorecroft; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Rita was predeceased by her son, William Moorecroft; grandson, Tony Moorecroft; sister, Eleanor Moorecroft; brothers, Jack and Paul Mabie. Although there will be no Visitation, a Memorial Mass will take place at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 11am with Father Monte Peters officiating.
