Obituary of Mavis Gorman

The passing of Mavis Marcella Gorman of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Elwood Gorman, occurred on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Shannex Parkland – Thomas Hall. Born on September 11, 1922 in Pleasant Valley, NB, she was a daughter of the late James and Jessie (Newell) Bubar. Mavis was a member of Burtts Corner Baptist Church and the Burtts Corner Brass Band. Mavis is survived by her sons, Carl Gorman (Alma) of Guelph, ON and Wayne Gorman (Peggy) of Hanwell, NB; grandchildren, Kevin (Kelsie), Karla and Steven (Pam) Gorman, Stacy Richardson; great grandchildren, Anna, Emily and William Gorman, Alexandra and Cassidy Richardson, Aaron Shaw and Meghan Shaw-Godik (Alex), Kirsten and Kaitlin Gorman; sister in law, Pauline Bubar; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Mavis was predeceased by her sisters, Neno Gorman (Ashley) and Verda MacDonald (Charles); brothers, Edward (Fanny) and Noris Bubar. Visitation will take place at Burtts Corner Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 1-2 pm; followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Pastor Stephen Hoyt officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Kevin Gorman, Steven Gorman, James Bubar, Eric Bubar, John MacDonald and Terry MacDonald. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery. The family wish to extend a thank you to the nurses and staff of Shannex Parkland – Thomas Hall for the care and compassion given to their parents.
