Obituary of Doris Wilkins

The passing of Doris Elizabeth Wilkins of Fredericton, NB, beloved wife and best friend of Harold Wilkins occurred on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 27, 1929 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mabel (Wood) Carlisle. Doris was a member of the Devon Senior Bridge Club. In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by her loving children, Katherine Gotell (Gerry) of Charlottetown, PEI, John Wilkins (Martha) of Fredericton, NB and Ronald Wilkins (Susan) of London, ON; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, James Carlisle of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Marguerite Carlisle, Louise Yerxa and Minnie Nevers, and brother, Charles Carlisle. Although there will be no visitation by request; a Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Franklin Curtis officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date.
