Obituary of Joyce Merrill

Life Legacy The passing of Joyce Noma Merrill of Fredericton, NB, wife of Carl Merrill occurred on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 4, 1941 in Campbellton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Cecil (Jalbert) Fyfe. Joyce was a devoted teacher, she taught passionately in various locations including Doaktown, Barker’s Point and Oromocto, retiring in 1995 after 34 ½ years of teaching. She was a spiritual woman with a strong love for her family. Joyce enjoyed arts and crafts. In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by her son, Graham Merrill (Joanna Methrell) and her children, Alex and Maria; her in laws, Carolyn (Fred), Don (Pauline), Jim (Janet) and Margie; close friends, Donna, Sue and Pauline. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant sister. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 11am with Rev. Ellen Beairsto officiating.
