Life Legacy
It is with great sadness that the family of Edison Edward Palmer of Stanley, NB announces his recent passing on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Edison was born in Tay Falls, NB on May 26, 1938 to the late Ed and Agnes (Painter) Palmer. Edison worked as a mill worker, woodworker and truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and loved horses and his cat, Autumn. Edison enjoyed listening to the country Jamboree on Sunday nights on 94.1, going for drives in the tow truck with his son Nicky; he also liked wrestling, and will be remembered for his jokes and story telling.
Edison is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Palmer) of 55 years; son, Nicky (Dawn); daughters, Evie (Junior) Nason, Marlene (Bob) King; grandchildren, Blaze, Joseph, Edison, Darien, Betty Dawn (Wayne), Cody (Maggie), BJ (Alison), Bobby (Danielle), Evan (Jennie) and Claude; great grandchildren, Tobi (Brad), Kaitlyn, Shelby, Isabella, Justin, Kayleigh, Leah, Ethan, Austin and Sabastien; great great grandchildren, Cohen and Joseph; sisters, Alveretta “Peggy” Kervin and Bessie (Steve) Arbeau; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special chosen nephew, Joe Hawkes of Ontario; special friends, Tammy Chamberlain and Marsha Munn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Joey; twin granddaughters, Kathleen and Krystal; sisters, Linda and Wilma.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Mowry officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Betty Dawn Nason, Cody Nason, Bobby Palmer, Evan Palmer, Rhys Gullison and Steven Lyons. Interment will take place in Hillcrest United Church Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.
