Obituary of David Keenan
The passing of David James Keenan of Fredericton, NB, husband of Stella (Douglass) Keenan occurred on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Shannex Parkland. Born on April 7, 1919 in Stanley, NB, he was the son of the late James and Jemima (Cooper) Keenan. He was a Veteran World War II. David retired as a truck driver with the Department of National Defence. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, and a past member of 55 Plus Seniors Club and Seniors Bowling. David enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by daughter, Darlene Greenbank (Michael) of Fredericton, NB; sons, Walter Keenan (Lucienne) of Burton, NB, Brian Keenan of Oromocto, NB and Royce Keenan (Debbie) of Burton, NB; daughter in law, Fay Keenan Mossop of Maugerville, NB; 19 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; sister, Edna Richardson of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Donald; granddaughter, Tracy; great grandsons, Joe and Chevy; brothers, William and John Keenan.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Ranson officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Church Building Fund.
