Obituary of H. Douglas Price
The passing of H. Douglas “Bun” Price of Fredericton, NB, husband of Gertrude Price occurred on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 5, 1930 in McNamee, NB, he was the son of the late Douglas H. and Minnie (Murphy) Price. Doug worked at H. S. Gill for 37 years, retiring as a Logging Supervisor in 1990. He was the “Pitcher of the Year” for the “Fredericton Tigers”, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame “Nashwaaksis Merchants”. Doug used to drive his manager crazy, he would walk the bases full and then strike out the next three up.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Dora Lyons and Georgie Price; brother, Richard Price; half sisters, Ada Porter and Margaret Brown; half brothers, Wilbur, Walter, Lester and Cecil Long; and his special companion, their beloved dog, Becky.
Although there will be no visitation or service; a Public Graveside Service will take place in St. James the Greater Anglican Cemetery, Ludlow, NB at a later date.
