Obituary of George Hitchcock

HITCHCOCK, GEORGE HANFORD – George, age 85 of Limestone Siding, NB and recently Fredericton, NB, passed away January 19, 2017. Born February 21, 1931 in Lake Edward, NB, he was the son of the late Simon and Bessie (McKnight) Hitchcock. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Glenna Frances (Morrell) Hitchcock. He is survived by his daughter Karen (Terry) Hazlett of Penniac, NB; sons Gary (Brenda) of Calgary, AB, Ronald (Cindy) of Regina, SK and Wayne of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Erin (Brian) Hitchcock and Murray Hitchcock, Kiefer Hitchcock and Ashley Hazlett; his sisters Margeurite Hitchcock, Marie Hitchcock and Mae Cameron. Also predeceased by his sisters Elizabeth Pelgrom, Dora Godshalk, Madeline Hitchcock, Arvilla B. Hitchcock (1934-1944) and brother Murray Hitchcock. George loved the unspoiled outdoors and backcountry where he would always stop to admire sceneries and wildlife. To those he knew he encouraged this appreciation of nature. Cremation is entrusted to York Funeral Home of Fredericton, NB and will be followed at a later date with a private service and interment in St. Alban’s Anglican Cemetery, Medford, NB.
