Obituary of Patricia Langmaid
Langmaid, Patricia Margaret
The passing of Patricia Margaret (Jones) Langmaid of Fredericton, NB occurred on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 15 1939, she was the daughter of the late Oris and Helen Jones. Patricia (Patsy) is survived by her daughters, Carol Banks and Lori (Tom) Hazlett; grandchildren, Tara (Darren), Chris, Sayard, Kyle (Kassandra), Amanda (Eric); great-grandchildren, Nikki (Keenan), Logan, Kota, Hank and Dougie, and great-great grandchildren, Raiden and Bea, and her sister, Nancy (Bobby) Bourque.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 2-4 pm at Lori's and Tom's home, for those who wish to fondly remember, eat birthday cake in celebration, and honour Patsy's life, especially the early days, when her beauty was remarkable and her life ahead still held the promise of joy, family, friendships and fulfillment. From early on, beginning in her 20's, Mom suffered from many serious and debilitating medical conditions over her lifetime, and those illnesses in part denied her an abundance and goodness of life. Her children and grandchildren were loved by her, they brought her comforts, joy, and a sense of pride. Mom looked forward with excitement to her birthday next week, it was a day to celebrate her, and at almost 78, she still loved getting her presents! Mom's life was very much about following rigid timely routines that mattered to her, and in her recent hospital stay confusion, she repeatedly asked, "What do I do now, What do I do now". The needed, and given answer was always the same, "just rest Mom, rest". With God's grace, mercy, love and assurance, may she now, forever and always have that calm, peaceful, beautiful, eternal rest. It's no-bath day Thursday in heaven too Mom, and upon her arrival there, she would have been comfortably more at ease knowing her daily schedule wasn't about to be interrupted!
A very special thanks to all those who were so admirably able to unconditionally love and care for Mom over the past few years that she spent in special care homes, kind- hearted friendly souls, Sue, Becky and John to name a few; and to those dedicated tolerant, kind and caring nurses in the ER and on the CCU who offered such warmth and compassion, a heartfelt thanks to Janet, Margaret, and Erin. Your job is your calling and you professionally and lovingly demonstrated that when we needed you to most. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.
