Obituary of George Hunter

The passing of Nelson Hunter of Boiestown, NB formerly of Astle, NB husband of the late Alice (Hood) Hunter occurred on December 29, 2016 at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home. Born on September 24, 1930 in Avery 's Portage, NB, he was the son of the late Robert and Jessie (Astle) Hunter. Nelson retired from Repap Forestry. He was affiliated with the Boiestown United Church. Nelson is survived by his sons, Melvin Hunter (Lori) of Porter Cove, NB and Gregory Hunter (Beverly) of Rothesay, NB; eight grandchildren, Nicky Donald (Susan), Mitchell Hunter (Amy), Jordan Hunter (Lacey), Caleb Hunter, Samuel Hunter, Liam Hunter, Dustin McFawn and Brittany Sharpe; 4 great grandchildren, Emma, Olivia, Jack and Macsen Hunter; brothers, Floyd Hunter (Isabel) of Burton, NB and Scott Hunter (Carol) of Guelph, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, Maxine Conroy, Reginald Hunter, Elwood Hunter, Ruth Price, Neil Hunter and Donald Hunter; sisters in law, Kay Hunter and Lillian Hunter; brothers in law, John "Buster" Conroy and Gordon Price. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel on Sunday, January 1, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Beverly Daley officiating. Interment will take place in Astle Cemetery at a later date.
