Obituary of Janet Dorcas

The passing of Janet Ann Dorcas of Nashwaak Village, NB, wife of Ronald “Ron” Dorcas occurred on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 19, 1957 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of Ralph MacKay and the late Rita (Case) MacKay. Janet was an Office Administrator at Bird Stairs. She was a member of Nashwaak Village United Church. Janet enjoyed camping, fishing, bird watching, four wheeling, spending time along the Nashwaak River, she cherished her family and family gatherings, loved animals, especially her beloved pet of many years, Bandit, she also loved her place of work and her co-workers. In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by her daughter, Chelsea Dorcas (Tyler) and her son, Grant Dorcas (Ricky); twin sister, Joe Anne Hunter (Don) and sister, Beverly MacKay (Roland); brothers, Jamie MacKay (Dianne) and Gardiner MacKay (Jalaine); mother in law, Marie Dorcas; several nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her sister in law, Vickie Dorcas and father in law, Freddie Dorcas. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Gordon Mowry and Rev. Pat McAloon officiating. Special thanks to all nursing staff and Doctors on 4NW and Palliative Care.
