Obituary of Ada Patricia McAloon
Patsy McAloon wife of the late Roy “Jiggs” McAloon passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Nashwaak Villa, Stanley, NB. Born on March 17, 1920 at the Mouth of Keswick, NB, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Susan Kelly. She died three months before her 97th birthday. Patsy attended St. Patrick’s Church, where she was a life member for 75 years of the CWL, as well as a charter member of the Ward Settlement Women’s Institute and a member of the Agriculture Society. She was a skilled homemaker having won prizes and awards for her cooking, quilting, crocheting and Christmas wreath making. If someone needed a hair cut or perm, an anniversary or wedding cake made, boarders put up for a time, an elderly relative cared for, a grocery store worker, she was game. She had many friends from all age groups and enjoyed story telling and keeping up with world news, especially with her grandchildren with whom she had a special relationship of sharing. We will miss her prominent presence.
Patsy is survived by her daughters, Betty Robertson (Tom) of Fredericton, NB, Anne Bamford (Dennie) of Fredericton, NB, Susan Gullison (Raymond) of Stanley, NB, Mary Hay (Brian) of Stanley, NB; her son, Michael McAloon (Dena) of Edmonton, AB; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, Jon Thomas and Yuri Robertson, (Kaede); Tasha and Dominique Laroche (Tea ad Benoit); Beverly and Andrew Thibodeau (David and Dennis); Katie and Duane Moore (Clark and Paige); Christine and Steve Chisholm (Anna, Clarie, Owen and Celia); Susan and Jon Fraser; Darren and Nicholas Bartlett; Kim and Kerry Sales; Alex Hay and Warren Hay (Ethan), and Tim McAloon; siblings Jack Kelly (Joan) and Annie Brown; nieces (especially Theresa), nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law, Elsie and Jackie.
