Obituary of Billie Lewis
It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Billie Lewis of Fredericton, NB on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at York Care Centre. Born in Bath, NB on April 2, 1953, he was the son of Sonia Stoddard and the late Paul Lewis.
He will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife, Jacquelyn Oakley; his mother, Sonia Stoddard; sons, Corey Lewis (Stephanie) and Paul Lewis (Teri) both of Fredericton, NB; stepson, Jeremy Meisner of Halifax, NS; stepdaughter, Angela Meisner (Todd Morrison) of Fredericton, NB; five cherished grandchildren, Emma, Owen, Maddox, Teagan and Mila; sisters, Kari-Sue (Ian) Irvine of Nerepis, NB, Donna (Jack) Boyd of YoHo Lake, NB; brothers, Brent (Joanne) Lewis of Chipman, NB, Bently Lewis of Woodstock, NB and Bobby (Kelly) of Barrie, ON; sister in law, Sharida DuPlessis (John); brother in law, Gary Oakley; nieces, nephews, and very special pet, Jas. Billie was predeceased by his father, Paul Lewis; step father, Robert Stoddard and his brother, Steward Hanington.
Billie grew up in Juniper, NB and he often reminisced about the wonderful times he had with his family and friends. His parents owned the village convenience store and that is where he and his brothers and sisters experienced their first jobs. A true outdoorsman, he became a Forest Ranger and worked for Natural Resources for most of his career spending the last five years in the position of Harvest Co-ordinator for the province. Well known for his generosity and his wonderful sense of humour and teasing, he had many lifelong friends which he held dear. He loved spending time hunting and fishing with his buddies and little brother, Jordan Thomas. He and Jacquelyn loved travelling, camping and hiking and swimming. He loved God and always felt richly blessed.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 4-7 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11am with Rev. J. D. Kennedy officiating. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
