Obituary of Olive Purves
The passing of Olive Irene Purves, wife of the late Donald C. Purves, occurred on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Mountainside Lodge. Born in Robinson Point, NB on October 02, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Nora (Day) Ferris. Olive graduated from normal school and taught school in the Grand Lake area and worked at Sears Canada for 15 years. Olive enjoyed gardening and her time spent at the cottage at Grand Lake.
Olive is survived by her daughter, Lisa Purves (Stephen Edwards); sons, Gary Purves (Margaret) and Randy Purves (Karen); grandchildren, Kyle Purves (Tamie Sellick), Kerri Comeau (Marc), Randy Clayson, Jolene Stigh, Jennifer Bickford (Jason), Janell Dulkiené (Linas Dulkys); great grandchildren, Paul Comeau, Olivia, Mark, Nathan and Paige Bickford, Jennika Ugglare (Viktor), Timothy, Rachael, Leah and Joy Stigh, Salomeja and Aiva Dulkis; sister, Connie Mason (Cecil); brother, Charles Ferris (Carol); several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Olive was predeceased by her brother, Bruce Ferris.
Although there will be no Visitation, a Graveside Service will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 2 pm with a reception to follow at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB.
