Obituary of Allen Moore

The passing of Allen David Moore of Fredericton, NB, husband of Sheila (Maston) Moore occurred on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 3, 1936 in Matheson, ON, he was the son of the late Fred and Maudie (Flemming) Moore. Allen served in the military for 31 years. He was a member of Gibson Memorial United Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, Fredericton. Allen volunteered with the Fredericton Community Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, worked with refugees coming into Canada and enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers. In addition to his wife, Allen is survived by his sons, Paul Moore of Toronto, ON and Herbert Moore (Melanie) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Emily (Brady) and Charlotte; brothers, Fred Moore (Georgina) of Port Hope, ON and Bob Moore of Waterdown, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Florence, Joan, George and Ronald. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 are asked to assemble for a Legion Tribute Service at 6:45 pm just prior to the visitation. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 2 pm with Rev. Cora Krommenhoek officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery.
