Obituary of Darryl McGillicuddy
The passing of Darryl Thomas McGillicuddy occurred on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at his home in Lincoln, NB. Born on June 20, 1951 in McAdam, NB, he was the son of his mother, Theresa (Parker) McGillicuddy and the late Lawrence McGillicuddy. Darryl moved to Fredericton after graduating in McAdam and worked at Chippin Brothers for 15 years, he also worked at numerous other jobs throughout his life. Darryl enjoyed the hunting camp with the boys, hockey, baseball games, dining out and his routine weekly visits to his mother. Darryl will be remembered for his laugh that could be heard from a mile away. He loved spending Christmas with his family.
In addition to his mother, Darryl is survived by his brothers, Vaughan (Brenda), Raymond (Ella), Mark (Sherry), John (Susan) and one sister, Anne (Ronnie); several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Clement.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 10-11 am immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 11am with Father Aaron Knox and Billy McGillicuddy officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Room. Honourary Pallbearers will be his brothers, Vaughan, Raymond, Mark, John; sister, Anne and special cousin, Mary Anne Nason. Interment will take place in Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
