Obituary of Wayne Steen
The family of Wayne Craig Steen announces that he peacefully went to meet his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Wayne worked in many facets of construction including, flooring, crack filling, painting and carpentry. Most recently he worked at installing air exchangers. All of these acquired skills were put to good use over the past several years while helping out at his church where he loved to spend a good deal of his time. Wayne has enjoyed many fishing trips with family and friends, and also loved to work with his hands as was evidenced by his many wood carvings. His most recent passion was heading to the golf course to challenge his buddies to a friendly game of golf. Wayne will be remembered most for his unwavering faith which he boldly shared with others, and his sense of humour that he never lost and was enjoyed by so many.
Besides being a loving husband to Natalie (Fowler) Steen, Wayne is survived by his daughters, Tracy (Arnold) Doucette and Vicki Hynes; his son, David (Mandie) Steen; grandchildren, Suzie Doucette, Vega, Triton and Riley Hynes; brother, Robert (Shirlee) Steen; sister, Judy (Terry) Koch; father in law, Donald (Marilyn) Fowler; mother in law, Geraldene (late Dan) Leeming; sister in law, Ev Fowler; brothers in law, Everett (Susan) Fowler and Joey (Vicki) Fowler; as well as several nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mary (Craig) Steen; brother, Donald Steen and brother in law, Nathan Fowler.
A special thank you goes out to all staff and volunteers of 4SE and Palliative Care at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for their tender loving care of Wayne over the past 10 and a half months.
