Obituary of Antonio Facini
The passing of Antonio “Tony” Olivo Facini of Fredericton, NB, husband of Mary (Feehan) Facini occurred on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 21, 1934 in Italy, he was the son of the late Ambrogio and Angelina (Fabello) Facini. He retired as a Tile and Cement Setter from Maritime Flooring. Tony had a great love for making his own wine, including tending to and growing his own grapes. He had an enormous love of his old country, Italy. He enjoyed soccer; making his own authentic spaghetti sauce, which he enjoyed daily. He had a wonderful sense of hospitality and loved a good game of skipbo. He had a warm smile, a kind heart and was always there to help friends and family in need. Tony enjoyed the company of his friends and family, especially his own children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Tony is survived by his children, Peter Facini of Hartland, NB, Suzette Facini (Graham) of Fredericton, NB and Gino Facini (Nadine) of Douglas, NB; grandchildren, Jacob (Amanda), Kyler (Maddie) and Kaden; sister, Rina Minin (Bruno) of Italy; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Mario, Peter and Berto Facini.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 31, 2015 from 1-2 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 2 pm with Father Monte Peters officiating.
