Obituary of Constance Archibald

The passing of Constance “Connie” Archibald of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late William Archibald occurred on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Pine Grove Nursing Home. Born on August 4, 1917 in Bathurst, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Bertha (Shampier) Chalmers. Connie was an active member of the Marysville United Church, the Church Session, Choir Member, Life Member of the UCW and the craft group. She also volunteered with the Community Kitchen. Connie is survived by her daughter, Joan VanDenburgh (David) and son, William Archibald (Dixie) all of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Kim Davidson (Duane) of Fredericton, NB, Jim VanDenburgh (Traci) of Nashville, TN, Jamie MacAulay (Carlie) of Edmonton, AB, Jen Fictorie (Brandon) of Fort McMurray, AB and Billy Archibald (Katie) of Fort McMurray, AB; great grandchildren, Isabelle and Harlee; several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Doris Browne, Hilda Theal, Marjorie Schneider; and her brother, Burton Chalmers. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Marysville United Church on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Lona Johnston officiating. Interment will take place in St. Luke’s United Cemetery, Belledune, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
