Obituary of Freda Brewer

Freda Abigail Ann (Jones) Brewer of Lower Hainesville, NB, passed away following a lengthy illness on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at York Care Center with her immediate family at her side. Born on November 13, 1928 in Tay Falls, she was the only daughter of the late Louis and Abigail (Haines) Jones. After her children were grown, Freda worked at a variety of jobs in Fredericton including, Kmart, Wilson Cleaners, and the CNIB food services at the Centennial Building. Freda enjoyed travelling to different places with her husband Leo, which included Australia, Europe, Venezuela and several Islands in the Caribbean. In later years, Freda suffered from Alzheimer which resulted in her having to move to York Care Centre. Besides her parents, Freda was predeceased by her son, Clyde Finnamore; daughter, Carlene Finnamore; brothers, Durward Winslow and Carl Jones; sisters in law, Edna (McGraw) Jones and Marie (Fawkes) Jones. Freda will be missed by her husband Leo, who could regularly be found visiting her at York Care Centre; her son, Clayton (Carol) Finnamore of Sussex, NB; daughter, Ardith Finnamore; sister in law, Helen (Lint) Jones of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Darby Brewer, John and Heidi Finnamore; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 10-11am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11am with Rev. Peter Thomas officiating. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
