Obituary of Thomas Pieroway
The death of Thomas W. Pieroway occurred on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Tom is survived by his loving wife Marlane Elizabeth Pieroway; one daughter, Debora Lee Ann Ford, her husband Glenn; four stepsons, Mark, Stephen, Chris and David Nicholson.
Tom joined the Black Watch Royal Highland Regiment in 1960 at CFB Gagetown. In the early 1970’s he remustered to the Intelligence Branch and in this capacity he served at CFB Borden, CFB Shearwater, CFB Baden Sollingen in Europe and CFB Halifax.
After retiring from the military as a Warrant Officer in 1996, Tom went back to work for Loomis Armoured Car Services in Dartmouth, NS. He retired from there in 2001 and moved back to Fredericton, NB. He joined the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, working at different establishments around the Fredericton area. He finally ended back at CFB Gagetown where he had started in 1960, where he was employed as the Base Accommodations Supply Manager with the rank of MWO, a job he dearly loved.
Tom will be cremated under the care of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB and his remains will be in the hands of his wife, Marlane, until a site is determined for his final resting place.
