Obituary of Marion Grant

The passing of Marion Jean (Bell) Grant, of Taymouth, NB, wife of the late Fraser Grant, occurred on November 9, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 2, 1933 in Taymouth, NB, she was the daughter of the late Dean and Clara (Abernethy) Bell. Marion was a member of the Main Street Bowl-a-Drome Senior’s League for many years. She was a member of the Taymouth United Church and Fellowship Group. Marion loved her monthly senior’s tea time at the Taymouth Community Center. She enjoyed her garden, dancing and could often be found sitting on her deck watching the Nashwaak River. Marion is survived by her children, Barb Flinn (John P.) and Donna Bateman (Douglas); daughter-in-law, Marie Grant; son-in-law, Daniel Evans; several loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Pearl Johnston (Thomas); several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her children, Deborah Evans and Wayne Grant; sister, Greta Wall. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Taymouth United Church, Taymouth, NB, on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Yvette Swan officiating and Rev. Franklin Curtis assisting. Interment will take place at Taymouth Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Taymouth United Church Cemetery Fund.
