Obituary of Edward McKinley
The passing of Edward “Ned” Ronald McKinley of Fredericton, NB, husband of his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley (Bartlett) McKinley, occurred on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 28, 1941 in Marysville, NB, he was the son of the late Burton and Elva (Wade) McKinley. Ned retired as a Captain of the Fredericton Fire Department, after 35 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything to do with camping.
In addition to his wife; Ned is survived by his daughters, Lori, Pam and his son, Ronald all of Fredericton, NB; three grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle), Neddy (Robyn) and Dominic (Madonna); seven great grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Brown (Frank) of New Maryland, NB; brother, Danny (Shirley) of Alberta; sister in law, Kay McKinley of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephew; and his special canine companion, Charlee. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Jody Brent; infant great grandson, Damian McKinley; brother, Donald; and his special canine companion Molly.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 6-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery.
