Hovey, Gerald Owen
The passing of Gerald Owen Hovey “Goosie” of Porter Cove, NB, husband of the late Marguerite (Gibbons) Hovey occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Central New Brunswick Nursing Home. Born on March 12, 1938 in Ludlow, NB, he was the son of the late Karl and Eunice (Palmer) Hovey. He was a truck driver with Empire Trucking. Goosie was a member of St. James the Greater Anglican Church. He was also a member of the Boiestown Legion. Goosie previously enjoyed fishing, hunting and four wheeling.
He is survived by his sons, Tony Hovey and Chris Hovey both of Edmonton, AB; sisters, Monnah Hovey (George) of Yoho Lake, NB and Carol Annette Guitard (Shane) of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Gordon Hovey (Shirley) of Yoho Lake, NB, Cleveland Hovey (Anne Marie) of Fredericton, NB, Dave Hovey (Marilyn) of Ontario and Jeffrey Hovey (Sherry) of British Columbia; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Etta Hovey.
There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. A Private Graveside Service will take place in St. James the Greater Anglican Cemetery at a later date.
